Abstract:
Collected (16) of soil samples the official institutes of Al-Rusafa in the city of Baghdad, to measured effective radiation of these samples using a gamma ray Spectrometry technique, with the detector high purity germanium (HPGe), for detection of radionuclides and the expense of specific activity to use the program (GINE-2000). Found that the rate of specific activityof the nuclide of (214Bi or 214Pb) equivalent tospecific activity of the (238U) is (13.84 ± 0.80) Bq/kg and (15.76 ± 0.79) Bq / kg for (228Ac or 212Pb) equivalent to specific activity of (232Th). The rate of specific activity of the (40K) was increased by (288.39 ± 14.20) Bq / kg and for (137Cs) (1.56 ± 0.29) Bq / kg. Then calculated both the rates of absorbed doses in the air and effective dose for the Rusafa side of the city of Baghdad was the rate of absorbed doses up to (27.97 ± 1.45) nGy.h-1, either the effective dose rate was up to (34.30 ± 1.78) μSv.y-1.Keywords: Radiation, Gamma ray Spectrometry, Absorbed doses, Annual effective dose rate.
